Hurricane Sandy hits New York

The Storm Damage Team from SERVPRO of DeSoto, Tate & Tunica Counties helps local franchises in New York following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. As you can see this home was badly damaged by rising flood waters from a nearby river. River water or ground water entering a structure from a flood must be considered grossly contaminated.

Generally, storm flooding requires that affected porous materials inside a home or building must be removed.  Less porous, or non-porous surfaces, such as concrete floors and the studs can usually be saved and cleaned to a sanitary condition.

Some homes can get more damaged then others and with this home so much water came in that the home became flooded and had to be completely gutted. Many homes and businesses can be ruined with a few feet of standing water. That's where we come in and make it good as new.
